“There is a way that seems right to man but the end leads to death.”
(Proverbs 16:25 NIV).
READ: ACTS 8:26-39
The Bible pictures life as a journey in which we must choose the road we will travel. Although there may be many roads but in reality, they come down to two choices- the narrow and the wide way accord to Matthew 7:13-14, “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction…” However, how can we see which way to take? “I am the light of the world,” Jesus says, “Whosoever follows me will never walk in darkness.” (John 8:12). As for the gate which leads to life, He is that Gate (John 10:9), He is also the Way (John14:6, Hebrews 10:20) .All who enter by this Gate and follow this Way come to a city prepared by God Himself. In this city, He meets all our needs. (Hebrews 11:6; Revelations 21:22).
It is not surprising why then that early Christians were called “The Way,” This way is not just one more idea among many ideas about life but this Way brings us to a person, a Guide who says of Himself, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:6).
As for the eunuch in our Bible reading, he welcomed a friend who helped him more fully understand God’s word. And in doing so he gained great happiness. In the best sense he was on his way home because he had found the “the Way.” Have you found the Way today? He is Jesus the Way, the Truth, and the Life that leads to God the Father. Accept Him into your life today
Lord Jesus, I am sorry for all my sins, I believe You died for me and I accept You today into my life to be my Lord and personal Saviour.
