“And saying, Repent (think differently; change your mind, regretting your sins and changing your conduct), for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

(Matthew 3:2 AMP).

READ: Psalm 7:11-12

There is a game known as the chicken game. It is a dare devil-suicide game considered a way to prove the bravest, the most courageous, and the most daring among some gangs. The players get into different cars, and drive to a considerable opposite distance between themselves. Then at the referee’s signal, they start driving towards each other on the same lane. The point of the game is to find out who is going to chicken out of the way, before the two cars collide.

Crazy, is it not? However, some people are playing chicken with God. They want to find out how far they can abuse the mercy and grace of God. His silence does not mean He is in agreement with foolishness. For more than 30 years, God warned Judah to repent through the Prophet Jeremiah. The warnings were clear and strong but Judah played chicken with God. They ignored divine instructions, and put off repentance. They continued in their rebellion and Judah was eventually destroyed. Some people live day after day in rebellion, meddling with the things God hates. Someone said that sin would cost you more than you want to pay, and take you farther than you want to go and keep you longer than you want to stay. Rebellion puts you on a collision course with the freight train of the judgment of the Almighty God who is no respecter of persons.

Oh Lord I repent today forgive, set me free and teach me how never to take Your mercy for granted Lord Jesus today I pick up my cross, I deny myself, by the help of the Holy Spirit will follow You to the end of my days.
