“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.” (Philippians 2:5-7 NKJV)
READ: James 4:6-10
God resists, opposes and rages against the proud but on the contrary gives grace, undeserved mercy (God’s riches at Christ’s expense) to the humble. He desires that His children be humble as a mark of honour and reverence unto Him; for there is nothing we have that we have not received from Him. Victory is not for him that runs or wills but unto him that God shows mercy and him that God shows mercy must be humble. Bible says pride goes before a fall and a haughty spirit before destruction. There are examples of those who God brought down due to pride, for example, Nebuchadnezzar and those God lifted due to humility, for example Mordecai and our Lord Jesus. Beloved, God’s blessings are tied to humility so let’s remember to be humble at all times.
Lord, take away from me any element of haughtiness leading me to destruction in Jesus’ name.
